L.A. Historic-Cultural Monument No. 96: Storer House
November 25, 2008Created in 1923 and built by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright in L.A. Historic-Cultural Monument No. 96. This mansion is made for Dr. John Storer, inspired by Mayan ruins with its xterior made of precast “textile” concrete blocks.
The Storer Mansion has been used in several shows and television episodes. It is also featrured in some hollywood films. Joel Silver, a hollywood producer snapped it up in 1984 and restored it to its original glory. He re-construct and bring back the beauty of this historic home. It is really fun to take a journey to the past where we’ve unearthed some famous homes pulled straight from the history books.
